LAHORE: Preventive cardiology sections will be established at hospitals to aid in the early diagnosis of cardiac problems, per a direction from Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi.
The CM noted that this facility would be helpful to treat, screen out, and manage cardiac illnesses while serving as the meeting's chair and discussing the establishment of preventive cardiology departments. It would be beneficial to prevent the causes of heart diseases in advance, he said, and therapy would be advised in a specific center for the prevention of heart diseases.
"Early diagnosis and treatment of illnesses will conserve government resources," he continued. A preventive cardiology pilot project will be launched at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC), and its scope will progressively be expanded to other cardiology institutes. Departments of preventive cardiology offer significant public health services in developed nations.Early detection of heart illness, according to provincial minister for specialized healthcare and medical education Dr. Yasmin Rashid, will help lessen the strain on public hospitals.
According to Dr. Ezra Muhammad, the research director of Fatima Jinnah Medical University, cardiac disease can now be identified genetically.
According to Dr. Bilal Mohyuddin, executive director of the Punjab Institute of Cardiology, cardiac disorders may be brought on by high blood pressure, diabetes, smoking, and an unconventional diet.
